New Zealand PR firm named 'Best Agency to Work for in Asia-Pacific'
Wins two 2021 SABRE Awards categories alongside client CoreLogic NZ

The awards roll of New Zealand-based, globally active PR agency Alexander PR continues: it has been recognised as the 2021 Best Asia-Pacific Agency to Work For (Small, 5-20 employees) by global public relations industry organisation PRovoke Media (formerly the Homes Report). The win comes after last year’s #2 placement in the same category.

The award coincides with Alexander PR’s recognition, with client CoreLogic, in PRovoke Media’s 2021 SABRE Awards Asia Pacific. Under the banner of “Making Property Data Accessible”, the pair surpassed other top-ranked agencies and companies to win two categories in the 15 September awards – Company of the Year and Real Estate & Construction – and was a finalist in a third category, Executive Communications.

On top of that, the agency was a finalist in the BusinessDesk PR Consultancy of the Year category at the 2021 PRINZ Awards.

The Best Agencies to Work For contest is the world’s largest and most sought-after public relations awards competition and, says PRovoke Media, “the ultimate benchmark of PR firm culture and workplace performance, in an industry whose primary asset remains its people.”

Of this year’s win, PRovoke Media says, “Alexander PR is no stranger to this category, with the New Zealand boutique regularly attracting plaudits for an empathetic staff culture that is reflected not only in the long tenures [up to 15 years] of its 11 staffers, but in the firm's ability to punch above its weight when it comes to award-winning work. There were uniformly high scores across the board, including such metrics as employee pride, desire to remain, net promoter advocacy, the honesty of senior leadership, and staff empowerment.

“’Supportive, empowering, inclusive’ is how one employee describes the culture, while others note the team is ‘inspiring, fun and ambitious’ and demonstrates an ‘unrelenting pursuit of results, providing outstanding client experiences and cultivating a wholesome team spirit.’ Culture and benefit highlights include a range of team building initiatives, charitable endeavours, flexible work/life policies, and proactive support for personal/professional development in line with employee interests.”

The agency has been on an awards hot streak for several years; it was a finalist in the 2020 TVNZ Marketing Awards for the second year in a row, and won a slew of major global awards in 2019 for its PR leadership of the global 4 Day Week campaign.

For Alexander PR co-founder Kate Alexander, the 2021 nods recognise the most important aspect of any business. “The Best Asia-Pacific Agency to Work For award is one of the highest accolades the agency could receive. To us, the recognition by this prestigious global award goes to the core of what we are about. Our people are the heart and soul of our agency and every success we have achieved comes as a result of the passion, skill and vibrancy of our team. We’ve always tried to embed kindness, engagement and confidence at the centre of our business culture, and this award marks a major milestone in our agency’s development.

“At Alexander PR we believe that investing in our people and constantly improving workplace culture isn’t just a ‘nice to have’ – it’s critical in attracting and retaining smart and creative talent who in turn produce stellar results for clients. We’re incredibly proud that the majority of our team, and clients, have worked with us for well over a decade.

“Our team is the reason we continue to receive recognition, and we are privileged to work with many clients who give us the products, services and trust that enable global award-winning campaigns. On that note, we thank CoreLogic and PRovoke Media for our acknowledgement in this year’s SABRE Awards Asia Pacific.”

Co-founder Dwayne Alexander says, “International award-winning work is only possible with brave and visionary clients who continually innovate. We are incredibly lucky to have a number of clients, including CoreLogic, who only see opportunity, not obstacles.”

Alexander PR is best known locally for its strategic crisis and issues management and for numerous nationwide campaigns including 2020’s Let’s Not Forget campaign, which raised $249,000 for the RSA.

Globally it is the publicity and content machine behind the 4 Day Week conversation on the future of work, for which it received the following awards in 2019:

Alexander PR incorporating The Content Place - the Winner of Three SABRE Awards, Two Gold PR World Awards, One The Drum PR Award and One Global SABRE Award.
